Xiaoyu would be limping along within the districts of the Rukon near the first divisional lands. She had been wandering about greeting possible students and explaining things that have happened and what is to come inside the future. Hobbling from a home she closed her eyes and focused on the old office for old time sakes. Appearing just outside the empty barracks she pressed her hand upon the lock and had it open before her. Walking in Xiaoyu stood there just taking in the reconstructed building. Walking slowly from pillar to pillar the thing she came looking for caught her eye.
Walking over to a small section of the original offices she would bend down the false knee on her right leg tapping the ground lightly. Rubbing her hand on the original wood she closed her eyes and remembered the day when she had dedicated the original buildings and had helped the crews with construction. Standing back up with a little effort the short former Soitaicho rubed the side of her neck.
“Maybe I should stop looking in the past and look to the future more…”
The light blue haori she wore moved as a light breeze blew through an open window. A smile crossed Xiaoyu’s face. The smile would stay upon her face as she closed her eyes and tried to stay oblivious to the surrounding room for now as she did not want to change much as this was no longer her domain.
It was no time like the present; the Lieutenant of the 1st division wanted nothing more than to just go about her own personal business buuuut she knew that if she didn't do the errands her Captain told her to do she would hear about it later. The green haired woman wanted nothing to do with his old man lectures. In truth, she found her captain boring and much too serious for her tastes. It was ironic, though. The woman whom she was created from using the DNA was his wife and the head of the well known clan of darkness. Nobody but Zero and her former creator knew from whom she was cloned from. She wasn't a perfect copy. Her hair and eye color as well as her personality were entirely different from Kaoru Tsukino. She shared nothing of the woman's warmth and kindness, but everything of the woman's darkness within. Every Tsukino carried a darkness within their soul, their very core, but few were skilled enough to wield it as the Tengu Branch of the Tsukino clan could. Demons. The branches were named after demons. When Zero learned of her origins, she reveled in the darkness she had within her thanks to the cloning of Kaoru Tsukino.
Zero walked along much like a child would. Carefree and with a certain skip in her step. She was supposed to deliver a message to the squads about an upcoming meeting....sometime...somewhere. Zero wasn't sure what the message was since she wasn't really listening to his words. She didn't hate anyone, merely had no interest in being loyal. Loyalty was like the wind, hard to catch with Zero. She was loyal to nobody, not even her creator or the clan she was created from. In all honesty, she wasn't even loyal to the Gotei 13. She is with them merely for the chance to get battles and keep her from getting bored. The war was much more fun for her. She enjoyed tearing apart those that stood within her way. If she hadn't been under strict watch from the Captains and the Captain Commander during the war, there would have been far more blood on the battlefield. Of course Zero had to make it seem like she was for the Gotei 13 to keep her living. However, her lack of control while fighting (and to be honest she was keeping strict control even then), she was placed from one squad to the first. Zero wasn't fond of Hirato Murano's constant eye, but she made it worthwhile to make him as exasperated as possible.
"Chief can be so boooooring~!" The Lieutenant almost sang as she walked along. The first division squad members knew to stay out of her way when she was bored. Her first few days as Lieutenant caused them to realize that quickly enough. She walked by a large room only to notice a woman she recognized right away. Anybody would. It was the old Captain Commander. Before she was created, Xiaoyu was in charge. It was part of the 'history' lesson that Zero was taught by her creator before his 'untimely' death. At first she was confused as to why she was here, but soon her curiosity and boredom got the best of her. The errand forgotten within her mind. "OH! Well if it isn't Xiaoyu!" Needless to say, honorifics mean nothing to Zero. She uses them as she wishes. "What brings you out here?" Zero leaned in to smile innocently as she whispered. "Did you sense that I wanted to play? Cause the Chief always is work work work, he never wants to play." She huffed as a child would. Zero's green hair moved in the slight wind as her gold-yellow eyes danced in her humor.

Xiaoyu raised her head as she felt someone approaching her. It was something that she had expected but that is because of who she is. A lot of people had passed her and whispered and made note of the fact that the previous Soitaicho was visiting and if she was there to visit Hirato or if this truly was a social visit. Those people however would scatter away as Xiaoyu turned and the fukotaicho approached her position. Putting a large smile on her face she looked at the young acting girl.
“And you must be the new lieutenant of the division. Nice to finally see you . As for what brings me here. Well I came to pay some respects to the members of the first that died in the first few days of the war inside this building. And yes Hirato is a lot of work work work. He was always that way even back when I attended his and his wife’s wedding. He was trying to sneak in some work before the ceremony and after before they left for the reception and honeymoon. I had to order him to let the paperwork sit and leave it alone..”
Her little story over Xiaoyu lifted her bad arm and tucked it inside the internal sling in her haori. Taking a step with her prosthetic leg she looked at Zero.
“I do not think I am a good person to play with miss. I am not quite to spry as I used to be. Fake limbs make it hard to play.”
The lieutenant frowned dramatically, much like a child would, and sighed. Nobody but the captains and other lieutenants offered her much fun in terms of fighting. She liked using her body rather than her zanpakto. Due to her being an almost clone of Kaoru Tsukino, the wife of her Captain Commander, her zanpakto mimicked hers in some obvious ways. The sealed form was that of her sealed form now, and her spirit was similar to her own as well as her inner world. Even the shikai was similar, though only to the woman's bankai form. Zero looked over the former Captain Commander in front of her. She had heard so much about this woman from her history lessons from her creator, but never did she think she could be so....short. Granted, Zero herself was only 5'5'', but the former Captain Commander title carries so much weight. Maybe that's what kept her from her growth spurt all these years. The Lieutenant listened as the former Commander gave her show of excuse as to why she couldn't play with Zero.
"Oh well, playing with my squad members isn't fun since they all run from me. Though when Chief isn't so uptight and wants to play with me, he does put up quite the fight. At least I got to meet you, Xiaoyu. My name is Zero, first division's lieutenant." The green-haired childish woman gave a little cute wave. Again, she wasn't at all preferential to using honorifics or even being respectful with people's names. Her full name within the Gotei is 'Zero Tsukino', but she just tells those around her her name is just Zero. After all, she was pretty much created in a lab, it wasn't really her last name to have. However, to escape more eyes on her, she used the surname to get around some obsticles within the Gotei. Namely....the one where she is questioned to being loyal to the Gotei. Since the clan she was created from was loyal only to the Gotei, it was good of her to use their last name, which was the last name of her creator.
She listened as Xiaoyu talked about HIrato and his wife and how he wanted to work even while they were getting married. Zero laughed, she found humor in the small story the older woman told her. "That sounds like the Chief to a fault. He still works so much. I tend to take care of the training up of the squad while he does his work. When he's behind on paperwork he often yells for me to take care of my own, buuuuuut it's just so fun to take care of the more physical jobs rather than the desk ones." Zero giggled and looked at Xiaoyu with amusement. "Do you miss being the Captain Commander, Xiaoyu?"
Shifting her weight from foot to foot she realized that this new lieutenant was quite different than her won lieutenant and wife. She was most certainly an interesting one as she felt familiar to the Soitaicho but she could not place where it is that she could of known her from. As Zero spoke about how Hirato could put up quite the fight when he fought against her in training she smiled at her.
"And yet who do you think helped train him to become as strong as he is today? I was one of the few that would train against him when he was but inside your position or just barely above it. He was someone who worked hard to get where he was. That is why I left him the position when I retired due to some rather obvious conditions."
Her words would be coming along fast as she watched all of her bodily movements and watched every single little maneuver that she did. IT was strange as she could not even place a single reason as to why this green haired child would be familiar to her and yet she was. The near constant deja vu was starting to bother her. When she mentioned the whole not liking desk work she let out a laugh.
"You sound alot like Kimiko. She hated paperwork so much that she avoided doing it. So I just decided one day to just let her do all the physical training while I did the paperwork. Wound up working for quite the longest of times. Though my wife is very off putting when it comes to just how good she is with training and her strength... Well I am not going to fill in her life story as I feel she will eventualy come out of her little hole and be social with all of you guys once more."
Moving a littel gingerly Xiaoyu took a seat inside a nearby chair as Zero asked her if she missed the position. This brought a weary smile to her face.
"I do miss it. I would not be the person I am today if I did not miss it even the slightest bit Zero. I held that position for longer than most the shinigami around here have been alive and have to give it up as I did after I lost my leg and gained a weak hand was heartbreaking for me. Yet I knew that the time had come and it was time for me to move on. I passed it along to capable people. The Gotei I mean. My two daughters, their best friends, and my trusted allies now run the Gotei in such a way I could only hope for them. That is why I have gone back to the Academy and get that rebuilt and teach there."
Zero almost wanted to laugh as she looked upon the former Captain Commander. It almost seemed like the presence of Zero seemed to put off the woman. She had to put it to the woman, though, she found her presence off when her own Captain Commander, the man who is married to the woman that Zero is cloned after. Zero has made easy success in avoiding the former shinigami woman. Her death in the Civil War made it easier for Zero's growth and development. Afterall, it was easier to get more of her cells when the woman died protecting her children and was to be burned at her funeral. However, should her secret be found out, Zero could be in trouble with her Captain Commander. Would the man who went berserk with is wife's death be so forgiving to find that a clone was made of her? Even with her reitsu signature being almost similar, she was sure that the physical differences would be enough to make anyone stop wondering.
Zero giggled when she heard that the former commander had trained Hirato. It did not surprise her in the slightest. His strength did make Zero in awe, but it also made her want to fight him even more. She got to, but she made sure not to reveal her shikai or even her zanpakto to him all the while. She listened to why Xiaoyu left her position to him and Zero only smiled as her head tilted to the side. "Well, we all must move on at some point. Chief seems to be good at that since he is doing better since his wife's death." Zero knew it was a touchy subject with Hirato, which is why she never said anything about it outright to him. It wouldn't be good of her to press him in his most painful buttons when she was the clone of said dead wife. If Zero had regard for human emotions, she would try to empathize with him and comfort him. However, she is neither a good person for empathizing nor is she adept at comforting people. To her, people were playthings and power was all that mattered. Kaoru's reitsu and power made her crave more and more due to the darkness of the Tsukino clan.
The topic went on, away from Hirato, to how Xiaoyu's own lieutenant and wife hated paperwork. Zero giggled once more as she stood with her arms behind her back. Shew as being surprisingly subtle for her personality. She had to act like she was one of the good guys, after all. She liked her own arrangement with Hirato though the two never agreed on things. Zero did as she pleased, and in return she would get scolded by Hirato constantly. She had wondered when she would hit the right button and make the Commander finally lay the first wound upon her that would be meant to kill her. It was a game for the first lieutenant. Dig in deep to the scars upon his back till he snapped. She wanted to see the man from the Civil War again. She wanted to see his chaotic soul. Zero remained smiling at the woman till she sat down and began to explain if she had missed the position or not. It was an obvious answer, but the green haired child just smiled like a child would and looked at Xiaoyu with her curious and shielded green eyes. Like the late Head of the Tsukino Clan, she too put on masks to hide her true self from others.
"I see, well I suppose that makes sense. You know, I never went to the academy. When I first joined the gotei they just threw me into the chaos. It was so much fun, you know? The blood, the fighting, it all just makes me shiver with how fun it was!" She was letting a little of her psychotic side show as she remembered her hands being covered in both shinigami and their enemies blood. She had to pretend to be on the site of the Gotei when really she wasn't allied with either. The darkness within her heart of the Tsukino DNA was too strong for her to keep at bay half the time, which is why she fights like she does. She held no regard for anyone's feelings regarding the Civil War. She spoke as cruelly and as truthfully as a child would. After all, who would be more cruel than a child? "But I do enjoy how things are now. The squad members in the First Division are kinda fun to play with, but they don't put up much of a fight." She giggled as if that were a funny notion.

“He was quite devastated as was I when she was killed. It was an unexpected motion as she had made it public knowledge her clan was not allied with either side and would not offer aid nor assist either side in the war. Yet it was after her death when her father took over and placed all their efforts behind myself that we began to regain a foothold. One that we had been losing for a while.” Xiaoyu had to admit that while sad to see the young woman die that her death had brought a powerful ally to her side. Sure Xiaoyu would be injured a few months later and be effectively removed from the war at that point but the Tsukino Clan had helped the war effort and had been restored to a Noble House rating because of it. The returning giggle about Kimiko’s well known hatred of paperwork seemed to bring down the serious air that had started to develop.
Yet she felt that there was much more going on within the mind of the new fukotaicho of the first division. To her own thoughts this woman had masks upon masks a lot like others she had known in the past. Kaoru had had plenty of them as well but she had managed to cut through all of them and had become a good friend with her. “To be honest the fighting was not fun at all… Having to spill so much blood over something so trivial as worshipping some damndable dark deity… It sickens me. I had to dissolve men using the very water in their blood because they would not listen to reason. I created lakes out of their blood for stupid reasons…”
Xiaoyu responded to her with a rather cold demeanor almost like the deep rolling ocean and a light increase in moisture in the air would surround the pair. “It is good that you enjoy the peace. It was hard fought. And most of them do not fight because they do not want to fight anymore.”
Zero was growing bored towards her conversation with Xiaoyu. She did not like to stay long in conversation with those that liked peace rather than war. War was her passtime. It was her playground. She was born from darkness. Not just any darkness, the daughter of the strongest branch of the Tsukino Clan. She was a Tengu by blood and DNA, she was the demon princess of the Tengu branch. Kaoru never liked to think about the demon tones of her clan, but they were still there. Despite being held back up to the upper nobility once again, the Tsukino Clan could not wipe clean their darkness, their history of blood, and their reputation for turning out chaos within their members. Zero was no different, just not exactly born within their walls. Zero's eyes seemed to sharpen with her annoyance at how boring this woman became for her. In fact, her expression was very close to the one Kaoru often wore when someone or something displeased her or annoyed her. Even though they didn't have the same coloring, their manners and expressions were similar.
Zero had knowledge as to why Kaoru did what she did. Her creator was confused as to why their Clan Head would do such a thing, but it became known after her death that she was trying to keep her clan from being destroyed by either side should members of their clan join central 46. All it would take was one foolish Tsukino to tip the clan into chaos. After all, a clan full of demons isn't peaceful in the slightest. Kaoru herself had a bloodlust she constantly kept at peace to save those around her. Her heart had grown shrouded in worry for her families safety. Zero, personally, thought that Kaoru was a fool for playing it safe. Look where it got her....killed protecting her children and not able to die in battle. However, her death meant that Zero was able to receive more of her cells and more of her DNA to make her body stable and even more powerful. Tsukino blood was strong, after all. Zero's expression turned cruel, but still held that child-like smile as she spoke coldly of the late Head of the Tsukino's. "She was a fool to let her heart lead her. At least Ichiro Tsukino embraced his demon at the end and chose war. After all....the Tsukino Clan is nothing but demons and as such knows nothing but their darkness." Sadly, Ichiro chose war to drown his heart as sorrow took him yet again as he lost his daughter after he lost his wife when Kaoru was born.
Zero dropped her mask and showed her cruel nature. It wasn't a total showing, but she wasn't one to speak so lightly of war and peace. War happened not matter what, Zero understood that, and because she understood that she enjoyed what war brought to the table. "Foolish, peace cannot happen unless War is made. And war cannot happen unless peace is in place. However, nothing is peaceful forever and as such war happens despite the wishes of those who don't wish to fight. If you don't want to fight, then die. The weak shall be weeded out with war and only the strong survive." Zero looked grim, much like Kaoru did when she spoke of the war with Central 46 in the past. Zero's darkness was surfacing again. She had to go fight it out in order to gain control over what the Tsukino blood gave her. "I am not so naive to think that peace is lasting. Someone who wants power and glory will always come along to ruin what peace remains. Why fight against the inevitable? Just enjoy the bloodshed and excitement as it comes. Kaoru knew that all too well, but she was a fool who grew scared of losing what she had. It makes me sick to be related to her...."
With that, Zero turned around and walked off. She didn't want to speak to Xiaoyu anymore. Her mood tanked. What this meant was that she was going to have to go 'play' with the first division members in the training grounds to get her mood back up again. Zero's yellow eyes seemed all too sharp as she looked ahead. She used shunpo to make her way quickly. She hadn't meant to reveal that she was 'related' to Kaoru, but what is done is done. It wasn't a lie, she came from the bloodline of Tsukino. She just didn't reveal she was actually a clone of Kaoru. Ah well, save that for another time.
