Character Name: Soul Zero, or just "Zero".

Character Backstory / History:
Soul Zero, or rather, Zero, was 'born' into a lab within the 12th division in secret by one of the former members. They were also a member of the Tsukino noble clan. She was supposed to be a perfect replica of the head of the Tsukino clan, Kaoru Tsukino/Murano, but due to some errors on the creators part, she was nowhere near in terms of appearance or attitude of the Noble Head. She is a Modified Soul with the name Zero because she was the first, and only, in the experiments it took to make her. The creator also felt no need to name her since to them, she was only an experiment. She was grown in one of the tubes until she was able to walk about like a small child (she grew like a person would, and so started out a child) She was then trained from a young age to read, write, and do all the things like a person would. However, the creator did not take into effect that Zero would learn as fast as she did. Due to the DNA, reishi, and soul samples taken from Kaoru Tsukino, Zero has similar zanpakto qualities as her.
Since the creator didn't exactly fight themselves, they turned to a friend of theirs to train up his little experiment. Needless to say, he didn't want the rest of the Tsukino clan to know he was trying to clone the Head of the Main Branch. The reasoning behind his experiment is still 'unknown' but some that know of Zero's true origins speculate he was trying to make the 'perfect weapon' or even the 'perfect daughter'. However, Zero did not reciprocate his feelings of family and instead proceeded to call her creator "Grump" and "Pest". While Zero still has the demeanor like a child, even as she is older, she does have a darker side to her that is hidden behind all the fluff. This is possibly due to the Tsukino Clan's darkness within their reishi/soul/DNA. Going on, Zero trained and trained until she looked to be about 12 (she was about 100 by this point), and soon joined the ranks of the Gotei 13 (under the side of the Gotei 13 due to her creators loyalties) under the name "Zero Tsukino", the last name being that of her creator.
She loved the battles, but to her it was all about 'playing'. To Zero, 'playing' would mean fighting and causing pain. She excelled at hand to hand combat and even Kido, but with her quick learning, her lack of Hado skills quickly rose to acceptable instead of being dreadful at them. Her teammates grew concerned with her lack of restraint and even notified the higher authorities, but this was quickly passed by as a phase and they thought she would grow out of it with more training. How wrong they were. Zero completed her training at the battlefields of the civil war in record time. Zero was put into a sort of 'limbo' as she was being talked over with what squad she should be put into as the squad she had been in before wasn't comfortable with her joining them. They constantly questioned her loyalties. (let's be honest, you're always going to be questioning her loyalties).
Nobody was really certain which one to put her in because of her blood-lust and because of her lack of restraint, but with her skill she was ultimately put into the 1st division due to those above her wanting to keep her in check more. She was not allowed to move up until very recently. It was to keep her under control, but with how quickly she was climbing the ladder of the 1st in terms of power level, she was then allowed to be Lieutenant with the condition that she never get any higher than that rank. She also has to keep within knowledge of the Captain Commander whom she was put under to keep an eye on her. Due to her lack of loyalties, she isn't to be trusted even with those that she 'likes'. To this day she just 'plays' away and trains like usual. Nothing could get underneath her skin except when she switches personalities and becomes very cruel and very menacing.

Zero stands at 5'5'' with a dancers type of body. She has short green hair that is cut at an angle to give her bangs. Zero also has some scars littering her body from when she was experimented on further, but they are still light enough for them to not be seen that easily. Her eyes are green with a darker tint to them at times when she goes 'dark Zero', however they do have a slight yellow tint to them at times in certain lights. Due to her training, she has slight muscles on her arms and legs and a toned body, but with clothes on she just looks like a delicate teenage girl. She normally wears her hair down due to it being so short but she can put it up sometimes in a short short pony-tail behind her head. Down her back is a long scar where her spine was once experimented on to give her a stronger back that could withstand large amounts of force when the need arises. It's not faint like the others, but she can usually hide it with clothes or a towel when in the bath with her teammates or just others in general. Her voice is child-like, but it holds the same tone of maturity as a teenager.
Personality:
Zero is anything but normal. However, her outward appearance would give the first impression that she was just another soul like the rest of them and that she was just a normally happy child. How much further from the truth that was. When she was created, the emotional range of Zero was low, but through the years she learned how to be happy, sad, excited, angry, etc. Her emotional range has since expanded, but she doesn't process emotions like normal people do. When she sees happiness, she gets happy but likes to play tricks on the happiness to ruin it. when she sees violence, she gets excited and happy. See the problem? Zero is unlike others in that she isn't able to fully comprehend just how her actions effect others. When she beats someone up, she doesn't see the consequences. When she is in a fight, she doesn't care about her well-being or her teammates. Nothing matters to the Mod Soul. Well, only what she finds amusing and what makes her 'happy'. If anything, her emotional range is like that of a child. She is fully capable of becoming angry and mad, and it takes very little to set her off.
She finds amusement in just about anything. Since being allowed to join the Gotei 14, she likes to wander the barracks of other squads to see what she can find and often does so without them knowing she is there. Zero also likes to play games with people, and by games, it is understood that they are anything but. Like her creator, she enjoys dissecting her targets, though how successful she is depends on how closely she is guarded and watched by those that were charged with the job. Also like her creator, she doesn't care about what her actions have to do. While stated before, the meaning behind this mention of it is that she doesn't care if causing pain to others hurts them or even causes death; to her it is all just a 'game'. She will not exactly torture others, though it certainly does seem so to a bystander, she just 'plays' with them. In her mind, she is doing nothing wrong.
Zero's personality is quite complicated and yet simple all at once. While she may be one way, she is also very much the other. To explain what that means, here is an example: Akin Zero to a child that is tearing apart the wings of a butterfly. They are curious as to what the creature is, yet their actions destroy it at the same time of their intrigue. She is as cruel as a child though her body is that of a teenager. Her mood swings just as much as a child's does.

Fighting Style: Zero's fighting style varies from opponent to opponent. She normally likes to 'play' with them until she can finally cut them down. While she may not have much in the way of actual strategy, she does have a good grasp on the whole psychological aspect of fighting. She may be small in body size, but her mental acuity in her movements make so that she can use her size to her advantage. Since becoming the squad member under Hirato Murano, she has attained more skill in hand to hand combat. This is useful to her when she is unable to use her zanpakuto. She is able to subdue those around her without having to break the rule of using her sword not in battle. However, there is a downside to Zero's fighting style. Once she becomes bored with an opponent, she either chooses to kill them right away or leave the battle and stop fighting because it isn't fun anymore. She has two speeds, either happy and playful (while still being dangerous) and then cruel and merciless. she wavers between the two, but mostly just stays in the first speed to not have so many eyes on her at the end of the day. Because she is considered a loose cannon and her loyalties are questionable, she often holds much of her deeper emotions in while fighting. however, if you see her laughing while being severely beaten, look out....she isn't what she might seem.

Zanpakuto Appearance: While Akai Tsukihime is sealed, it takes the form of a katana that is black with a blood red hilt with a black chain wrapping around the entire length of the blade, sealing it off from easy use. It is of standard katana length of 28 inches.
Zanpaktou Inner World: Her inner world is, much like the soul she was cloned from, a dark place filled with shadows around every corner. Instead of forests like the other inner world is, the world around the spirit is that of a small sea side beach village. It's set on the water. Despite not being a water zan, the water symbolizes a body of consciousness within Zero. The sky is forever a night sky with a full blood-red moon filling up a large part of the sky. When Zero is in turmoil, that is to say feeling negative emotions, the waters become restless and storm clouds come in as the wind picks up. When she is happy and content, pleased and every other positive emotion, the world is calmer and the moon gives off less of a 'kill you' vibe than usual. The village huts are over the water high up to keep themselves out of the water.

Akairo Tsukihime looks similar to how the original zan looked, but she is older in appearance and dresses in short kimono rather than long traditional ones. Her hair is long and white and somewhat unkempt. She may look like an adult, but she really is a child at heart. The exact opposite to the original's personality and appearance (child body, but mindset of an adult). She may look cute and harmless, but she really is as cruel and child-like just like her master. Her voice is older, though her mindset is younger. She looks to be about in her twenties. Her kimono are always white colors, light colors. Light pinks and whites are her favorites. She wears short kimono to fit in with the water oasis theme of her inner world. She goes barefoot everywhere and tends to use the wind to keep afloat when she is crossing the water. She wears hair bells tied in her hair as well as on her ankles. Her eyes are red. Unlike the original, she doesn't wear a mask at all.

Zero's Shikai takes the shape of a blood red Scythe. It has a large blade and is curved in parts. The staff part of it is nothing out of the ordinary but is longer than the average to make up for the fact that the blade is heavier and bigger than the average scythe. The chain from the past two forms is in one of two places. When Zero has to keep her darkness and power in check, the chain wraps around the blade, dulling it for just a bit, and the second place is when she is going all out, it is wrapped around the staff part. The chain itself is pitch black like the staff part of the scythe with little runes etched into it that glow bright red. Measurements include:

Name: Dance of the Wind Blades

Description: It's pretty simple. Once Zero swings her scythe, the wind is then made into blades that are able cut through anything and cause a lot of damage. With this ability she is able to control where the blades go. The maximum length it could travel would be around 1000 feet or so, and the minimum would be around 500 feet or so, sometimes this ability can be used to go so little as 200 feet, but those are desperate situations. It is best not to be used close to the user as the wind blades can harm the user as well. This ability uses around 10% of her reiatsu if used normally. However, the more reiatsu she puts into it, the more it will cost her.

Description: This allows Zero to make a barrier out of the wind to protect herself or a group of people she wants to protect. The maximum range this barrier can protect is a diameter of 100 feet (roughly encasing around 10-15 people including herself), the minimum would be just a diameter of 10 feet (which could include just her or another if she desires it). This ability lasts for one post seeing as it is just a one time thing to protect against medium-large scale attacks. This is so since this ability takes up more of her reiatsu than the Dance of the Wind Blades. It takes up roughly 25% of her reiatsu depending upon how big her barrier.
Name: Heaven's Chained Wind Scythe
Class: Offensive
Range: Medium
Description: This ability only requires the use of the chain that is attached to the scythe. The user manipulates the wind around the chain like a sort of barrier and manipulates it further so that there are small wind blades continuously in motion around the chain itself. This ability leans heavily on the users own skill at manipulating the wind element around them. The user then moves quickly, this requires speed as well as strength, and makes it seem as if the attack was meant to grab them or hit them, but really the attack never has to make contact with the target at all. The chain merely acts as a medium to attack a target without having to get too close to the target. The wind then slices the opponent without the chain touching them. Soon after they are blasted with thousands upon thousand with small wind blades, there is a resulting wind blast that is held back until the end of the technique making the opponent be blasted back severely. This technique requires only 10% of her spiritual energy to use, and can be used multiple times in a row. This attack only has 1 post limit to it.
Name: Hurricane Chain Coffin
Class: offense
Range: short
Description: This ability utilizes the chain portion of her zanpakto within the attack. Doing as she did for her Chain Scythe ability, Zero manipulates the wind around her chain as she make small wind blades around it. She then throws the chain towards her opponent and captures them within a cocoon of chains. At first, the chains merely surround her opponent loosely, but as soon as Zero pulls sharply on her chain to then bind her opponent completely. The wind blades that are around her chain soon slice into her opponent as long as she binds her opponent. This ability takes about 10% of her spiritual energy, and can last up to two post counts.
Second Wind- (utility ability) By using Second Wind, Zero is able to recover her stamina temporarily. She does this by increasing the oxygen levels in her bloodstream. This effect wipes away any exhaustion and lasts for two posts. However, this ability is not a substitute for proper rest and Kaoru will become fatigued after the effects have worn off.
Weaknesses of your Zanpaktou: The weakness for Zero's zan is that the physical aspect can be overcome because the blade is the way it is, scythe form. Also, wind can by overcome by more physical types of zans and high level zans.

She wasn't sure if she could get out of this without much injury, though she hoped that she wouldn't gain anything more than the aching head she already sustained. Silently she prayed to whatever force existed that Hirato did not find out. Her grip on her fan tightened as the chain attached was held in her other hand. Her senses fanned out as she caught the reiatsu signatures of the four hollows in front of her, as well as a curiously strong one coming towards her fast. Kaoru turned in the direction of the newest signature and saw a white captain's haori bright against the dark atmosphere. Her eyes widened as she silently prayed frantically that it was not Byakuya Kuchiki again. For the love of all that is good in the world, I do not need that man acting all smug and pompous while he saves me a second time. She rubbed her face lightly as she sighed, looking again and seeing that the figure was smaller than the 6th division captain. Her blue eyes then flicked to the hollows once more, they started to stir with the approaching figure. Kaoru unfolded her fan fast, holding it in front of her to defend herself if need be. Now that she had her shikai out, defending would be easier than before. Bakudo were rather in short supply for Kaoru since she was mainly the attacking type than the defensive type. A trait she regularly showed in her training sessions with Hirato.

Her expression now conveyed emotionless and blank, a common expression when around others. She nodded to what Xiaoyu said, making note that the Head Captain said 'too', meaning she used wind as well, which surprised Kaoru somewhat. Her expression stayed blank as she replied evenly. "Not at all, ma'am, I greatly appreciate the help, actually," Kaoru said, loud enough so Xiaoyu could hear her. Kaoru had moved to look at the Head Captain as she saw her take out the hollow with a single hado, and it was the simple one too. Awed by her power and skill in kido, Kaoru mentally shook herself out of her thoughts and looked back at the hollow that now charged her. "Tch..." Zanpaktou Inner World: Her inner world is, much like the soul she was cloned from, a dark place filled with shadows around every corner. Instead of forests like the other inner world is, the world around the spirit is that of a small sea side beach village. It's set on the water. Despite not being a water zan, the water symbolizes a body of consciousness within Zero. The sky is forever a night sky with a full blood-red moon filling up a large part of the sky. When Zero is in turmoil, that is to say feeling negative emotions, the waters become restless and storm clouds come in as the wind picks up. When she is happy and content, pleased and every other positive emotion, the world is calmer and the moon gives off less of a 'kill you' vibe than usual. The village huts are over the water high up to keep themselves out of the water.

Akairo Tsukihime looks similar to how the original zan looked, but she is older in appearance and dresses in short kimono rather than long traditional ones. Her hair is long and white and somewhat unkempt. She may look like an adult, but she really is a child at heart. The exact opposite to the original's personality and appearance (child body, but mindset of an adult). She may look cute and harmless, but she really is as cruel and child-like just like her master. Her voice is older, though her mindset is younger. She looks to be about in her twenties. Her kimono are always white colors, light colors. Light pinks and whites are her favorites. She wears short kimono to fit in with the water oasis theme of her inner world. She goes barefoot everywhere and tends to use the wind to keep afloat when she is crossing the water. She wears hair bells tied in her hair as well as on her ankles. Her eyes are red. Unlike the original, she doesn't wear a mask at all.

Zero's Shikai takes the shape of a blood red Scythe. It has a large blade and is curved in parts. The staff part of it is nothing out of the ordinary but is longer than the average to make up for the fact that the blade is heavier and bigger than the average scythe. The chain from the past two forms is in one of two places. When Zero has to keep her darkness and power in check, the chain wraps around the blade, dulling it for just a bit, and the second place is when she is going all out, it is wrapped around the staff part. The chain itself is pitch black like the staff part of the scythe with little runes etched into it that glow bright red. Measurements include:

Name: Dance of the Wind Blades
Class: Offensive
Range: Long
Description: It's pretty simple. Once Zero swings her scythe, the wind is then made into blades that are able cut through anything and cause a lot of damage. With this ability she is able to control where the blades go. The maximum length it could travel would be around 1000 feet or so, and the minimum would be around 500 feet or so, sometimes this ability can be used to go so little as 200 feet, but those are desperate situations. It is best not to be used close to the user as the wind blades can harm the user as well. This ability uses around 10% of her reiatsu if used normally. However, the more reiatsu she puts into it, the more it will cost her.

Class: Defensive
Range: short
Description: This allows Zero to make a barrier out of the wind to protect herself or a group of people she wants to protect. The maximum range this barrier can protect is a diameter of 100 feet (roughly encasing around 10-15 people including herself), the minimum would be just a diameter of 10 feet (which could include just her or another if she desires it). This ability lasts for one post seeing as it is just a one time thing to protect against medium-large scale attacks. This is so since this ability takes up more of her reiatsu than the Dance of the Wind Blades. It takes up roughly 25% of her reiatsu depending upon how big her barrier.
Name: Heaven's Chained Wind Scythe
Class: Offensive
Range: Medium
Description: This ability only requires the use of the chain that is attached to the scythe. The user manipulates the wind around the chain like a sort of barrier and manipulates it further so that there are small wind blades continuously in motion around the chain itself. This ability leans heavily on the users own skill at manipulating the wind element around them. The user then moves quickly, this requires speed as well as strength, and makes it seem as if the attack was meant to grab them or hit them, but really the attack never has to make contact with the target at all. The chain merely acts as a medium to attack a target without having to get too close to the target. The wind then slices the opponent without the chain touching them. Soon after they are blasted with thousands upon thousand with small wind blades, there is a resulting wind blast that is held back until the end of the technique making the opponent be blasted back severely. This technique requires only 10% of her spiritual energy to use, and can be used multiple times in a row. This attack only has 1 post limit to it.
Name: Hurricane Chain Coffin
Class: offense
Range: short
Description: This ability utilizes the chain portion of her zanpakto within the attack. Doing as she did for her Chain Scythe ability, Zero manipulates the wind around her chain as she make small wind blades around it. She then throws the chain towards her opponent and captures them within a cocoon of chains. At first, the chains merely surround her opponent loosely, but as soon as Zero pulls sharply on her chain to then bind her opponent completely. The wind blades that are around her chain soon slice into her opponent as long as she binds her opponent. This ability takes about 10% of her spiritual energy, and can last up to two post counts.
Second Wind- (utility ability) By using Second Wind, Zero is able to recover her stamina temporarily. She does this by increasing the oxygen levels in her bloodstream. This effect wipes away any exhaustion and lasts for two posts. However, this ability is not a substitute for proper rest and Kaoru will become fatigued after the effects have worn off.
Weaknesses of your Zanpaktou: The weakness for Zero's zan is that the physical aspect can be overcome because the blade is the way it is, scythe form. Also, wind can by overcome by more physical types of zans and high level zans.

Kaoru scowled as she faced the four remaining hollows in front of her. She wasn't sure if she could get out of this without much injury, though she hoped that she wouldn't gain anything more than the aching head she already sustained. Silently she prayed to whatever force existed that Hirato did not find out. Her grip on her fan tightened as the chain attached was held in her other hand. Her senses fanned out as she caught the reiatsu signatures of the four hollows in front of her, as well as a curiously strong one coming towards her fast. Kaoru turned in the direction of the newest signature and saw a white captain's haori bright against the dark atmosphere. Her eyes widened as she silently prayed frantically that it was not Byakuya Kuchiki again. For the love of all that is good in the world, I do not need that man acting all smug and pompous while he saves me a second time. She rubbed her face lightly as she sighed, looking again and seeing that the figure was smaller than the 6th division captain. Her blue eyes then flicked to the hollows once more, they started to stir with the approaching figure. Kaoru unfolded her fan fast, holding it in front of her to defend herself if need be. Now that she had her shikai out, defending would be easier than before. Bakudo were rather in short supply for Kaoru since she was mainly the attacking type than the defensive type. A trait she regularly showed in her training sessions with Hirato.
It wasn't until a closer inspection of both the newcomer's reitsu signature and face that Kaoru saw the Head Captain fighting the hollows with her. She stopped suddenly, her fan in the process of moving back behind her, and looked at the figure of the Head Captain in front of her. The last time Kaoru had encountered this woman was when she had taken a night time walk outside her barracks. The time she had first met Hirato as well. That was a long while ago, though, and she doubted the woman would remember her. Kaoru heard her through the hollows cries, straightening out her body as she stood, keeping her mask on tight due to the appearance of someone else to the scene. In front of Hirato and Kyouya, she would let herself be vulnerable and open, but in front of others, Kaoru kept herself closed off. Her expression now conveyed emotionless and blank, a common expression when around others. She nodded to what Xiaoyu said, making note that the Head Captain said 'too', meaning she used wind as well, which surprised Kaoru somewhat. Her expression stayed blank as she replied evenly. "Not at all, ma'am, I greatly appreciate the help, actually," Kaoru said, loud enough so Xiaoyu could hear her. Kaoru had moved to look at the Head Captain as she saw her take out the hollow with a single hado, and it was the simple one too. Awed by her power and skill in kido, Kaoru mentally shook herself out of her thoughts and looked back at the hollow that now charged her. "Tch..." Kaoru scoffed as she jumped again, pushing herself high in the air, using the air to keep herself aloft easily. "I just wanted a nice night out away from that prison, was that too much to ask?" Kaoru snarled as she yelled her frustrations at the attacking hollow.
